Kantara vs Sunny Sanskari Showcasing Clash Latest Update, 2-Screen Cinemas Still On Hold Across India.
The box office clash between Kantara A Legend – Chapter 1 and Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari continues to dominate trade discussions. As Cineinfinity reported earlier, the showcasing war between AA Films and Dharma Productions has left exhibitors in a tough spot. And now we have the latest developments from the ground.
The Ongoing Tussle in 2-Screen Cinemas
The biggest sticking point remains the two-screen properties across India. These cinemas are still on complete hold as both sides have not agreed on the final showcasing ratio.
- Earlier: Kantara distributors demanded all shows in two and three-screen cinemas, leaving no space for Sunny Sanskari.
- Now: Kantara team has softened its stance and is willing to allow 2 shows to Sunny Sanskari in two-screen cinemas.
- Sunny Sanskari side: Dharma Productions is pushing for at least 5 shows or a minimum of 4 shows, insisting that the ratio must be 60:40 in favour of Kantara to keep things fair.
As of now, exhibitors reveal that a final settlement may be reached at 70:30 or 65:35 in Hindi belts, but nothing is confirmed yet. This deadlock has forced advance bookings for 2-screen cinemas to stay completely blocked.
Partial Opening in Bigger Multiplexes
While 2-screen cinemas are fully on hold, the picture is slightly better in larger properties. Sources confirm that higher-screen multiplexes have opened partially, with both films getting space. But the full-fledged programming schedule is yet to be locked, as distributors are still negotiating finer details.
Just One Day Left for Release
Both films are set to hit cinemas on Thursday, 2nd October, yet with only one day left for release, shows are still not fully opened across India. The uncertainty is most visible in the 2-screen properties, which remain completely on hold due to the ongoing tussle.
Showcasing Standoff Far From Over
The hype around Kantara is at its peak and exhibitors know it will command the lion’s share of shows. At the same time, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari has strong family appeal and deserves fair showcasing, especially during the October 2nd holiday weekend when multiple films can perform well.
CineInfinity insiders believe that until the final ratio is confirmed, 2-screen cinemas across India will remain the biggest battleground. The negotiations are intense and exhibitors are waiting for clarity before opening full advance bookings.
One thing is clear this clash is not just about two films, it has turned into a fight for screen dominance, with the outcome set to shape one of the most explosive box office battles in recent memory.
Stay tuned with CineInfinity for more updates on this.
