Thamma Trailer Fails to Ignite Diwali Buzz; Registers Weak 24-Hour Response


The trailer of Thamma has dropped, but the initial reception has been underwhelming. In the first 24 hours, the trailer clocked just 1600 BookMyShow interests, a figure that falls well below the average benchmark for Diwali releases. 

For comparison, Diwali biggies in recent years have comfortably crossed the 5,000–8,000 interests mark within a day, with top-tier titles even touching 10,000+ interests. By those standards, Maddock's Horror Comedy Universe next Thamma’s opening buzz looks muted and signals an uphill battle ahead.

The film will be clashing with Milap Zaveri's Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat whose songs are trending everywhere and is garnering great BMS interests currently. Mohanlal's next pan-India film is also aiming Diwali release. Both competitors are already trending stronger in pre-release tracking.

Unless word-of-mouth breaks in its favor, the film risks being overshadowed by its heavyweight rivals during the festive window.

 

As things stand, Thamma’s trailer response suggests a challenging road ahead at the box office.
