Vash Level 2 Roars at Box Office, Janki Bodiwala Thriller Opens with ₹1.25 Crore

Gujarati cinema witnessed a historic moment this Friday as Vash Level 2, led by Janki Bodiwala, stormed into theatres with an excellent start. The much-awaited sequel collected Rs 1.25 crore net in India on its opening day, setting a new benchmark for Gujarati films.

A record-breaking debut for Gujarati cinema

The Krishnadev Yagnik directorial not only managed to bring audiences in large numbers in Gujarat but also made its presence felt in Hindi belts. Out of the total earnings, Rs 90 lakh came from Gujarat alone, while the Hindi dubbed version, titled Vash Vivash Level 2, added another Rs 35 lakh. With this, the film has delivered one of the highest opening-day figures ever recorded for a Gujarati film.

The film start has even surpassed the opening of 3 Ekka (Rs 1.10 crore), which previously held the record for a massive launch in Gujarati cinema.

Positive reports fuel the momentum

Word of mouth is extremely favorable, especially among the youth who have shown great interest in the psychological horror franchise. With such positive buzz, industry trackers believe that Vash Level 2 has a strong chance to witness remarkable growth over the weekend. The film is expected to consolidate its dominance in Gujarat while expanding its reach in Hindi-speaking regions.

However, the film will face some competition in the Hindi circuit from Param Sundari, another major release this week. Still, the gripping storyline and the brand value created by the first film ensure that Vash Level 2 carries a clear edge.

Legacy of Vash and its impact

The original Vash (2023) had already gained cult status in Gujarati cinema before it caught national attention when Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan remade it in Hindi as Shaitaan. The success of Shaitaan introduced wider audiences to Gujarati storytelling and built anticipation for a sequel. Recognizing this momentum, the makers strategically positioned Vash Level 2 not only as a regional release but also as a film that could appeal to pan-India audiences.

Vash Level 2- Starring Janki Bodiwala, Hitu Kanodia, Monal Gajjar and Hiten Kumar, the film combines psychological tension with supernatural elements, making it a perfect watch for thrill-seekers. With such an impressive start, all eyes are now on its weekend run to see if it can emerge as a trendsetter for Gujarati cinema in 2025.
