Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari Day 1 Advance Booking – Varun Dhawan & Janhvi Kapoor Starrer Remains Dull, No Major Growth by Evening

Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari Day 1 Advance Booking – Varun Dhawan & Janhvi Kapoor Starrer Stagnates, No Major Growth by Evening

Varun Dhawan’s Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari was expected to ride on festive buzz and his resurgent popularity, but advance booking trends remain weak and, worryingly, stagnant. Despite releasing on Gandhi Jayanti (2nd October 2025), the film has shown no significant jump from afternoon to late evening updates.

🔥 Advance Booking Numbers (PVR-INOX, Day 1 as of Sept 29, 3:30 PM vs. Sept 28, 10:30 PM):

  • Mumbai – 1,523 admits from 123 shows (hardly any growth from 1,486; prime properties holding, others negligible).
  • Delhi NCR (Delhi + Gurugram) – ~814 admits across 134 shows (minor rise, still weak).
  • Dehradun – 419 admits from 17 shows (already high, growth flat).
  • Chandigarh – 360 admits from just 6 shows (surprising strength).
  • Pune – 188 admits from 56 shows (no momentum).
  • Goa – 128 admits from 15 shows (stable, not rising).

📊 Total so far: 5,539 admits from 863 shows
🎯 Occupancy: 4.6% (up from 3.18%, but still well below expectations)

🚩 No Evening Momentum

What’s particularly concerning is the lack of evening push. Normally, festive releases see ticketing platforms light up post-lunch as families and office-goers lock their plans. Here, the movement has been negligible. Even Mumbai, the best-performing territory, has uneven trends – a handful of premium multiplexes are showing strong advances, while many others are running nearly empty.

⚔️ Clash & Content Doubts

The clash with Kantara: Chapter 1 is clearly hurting. Rishab Shetty’s film has already swept South India and is eating into screens up North. In contrast, SSKTK has failed to ignite hype despite its family entertainer pitch and star cast of Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor alongside Sunny Deol.

🔮 Outlook

With just one full day left before release, the film’s chances of scoring a double-digit opening look slim. Current trends suggest a ₹8–10 Cr nett Day 1 range unless walk-ins surprise massively on the holiday.

The film still has a festive advantage, but without stronger late momentum, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari risks becoming one of the more underwhelming Gandhi Jayanti openers in recent years.

Verdict: Advance bookings stagnant – Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari enters release week with muted buzz and heavy clash pressure.
