Siddhant Chaturvedi’s OTT Film Backed by Ajay Devgn Shelved?

Actor Siddhant Chaturvedi, who recently appeared in Dhadak 2, was all set to headline a big OTT project titled Ramree, a period action drama co-produced by Ajay Devgn. However, the much-talked-about film has now reportedly been shelved before it could even go on floors.

According to sources, Ramree was planned as a two-hero film set in the year 1945, inspired by real events from the Battle of Ramree Island. The story had an ambitious scale with heavy production demands, including elaborate sets and costumes to recreate the World War II era.

While the concept impressed both the producers and Netflix executives, the project couldn’t move forward due to budget constraints. The cost of mounting a period drama of that scale for an OTT release proved too high, making it difficult to justify the investment.

Insiders reveal that the film had been in the works for over a year and had even entered the advanced development stage. However, after multiple internal discussions, the makers decided to put the project on hold indefinitely.

Though Ramree may not see the light of day, Siddhant Chaturvedi continues to stay busy. His latest film Dhadak 2, co-starring Triptii Dimri, has found decent traction on Netflix after its theatrical run. The actor, known for performances in Gully Boy, Gehraiyaan, and Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, is also said to be in talks for a few new projects that could go on floors next year.
