OG Day 2 Advance Booking Report: Pawan Kalyan Mania Cools Down but Southern Might Keeps Numbers Steady

OG Day 2 Advance Booking Report: Pawan Kalyan Mania Cools Down but Southern Might Keeps Numbers Steady

After setting the box office on fire with record-breaking Day 1 advances, Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s OG witnessed the expected slide on Day 2. The euphoria and frenzy of the opening day gave way to a more normalized turnout, a trend commonly observed in South Indian cinema.

As per PVRINOX tracking, Day 2 clocked 34,578 admits across 917 shows, with overall occupancy settling at 16.36% — a sharp decline from Day 1’s impressive 37%.

City-wise Performance (Day 2 – PVRINOX Data)

  • Hyderabad: 249 shows | 13,555 admits – Still the film’s strongest base, but far lower than Day 1’s historic highs.

  • Chennai: 65 shows | 4,825 admits – Maintains decent traction, though well below the opening surge.

  • Bengaluru: 301 shows | 4,413 admits – Numbers on the lower side compared to fan-driven Day 1 bookings.

  • Vizag: 42 shows | 3,689 admits – Decent for its size, but down from opening buzz.

  • Vijayawada: 35 shows | 3,409 admits – Moderate hold compared to other pockets.

  • Coimbatore: 11 shows | 458 admits – Minimal contribution.

Why the Drop is Normal

  • For big-ticket South Indian releases, Day 1 is always driven by fan frenzy and star power, especially when it comes to Pawan Kalyan, whose loyal fanbase ensures historic openings. Day 2 usually sees a sharp correction as the hype settles and audiences wait for word of mouth before stepping in.
  • In the case of OG, the fall doesn’t indicate weakness  rather, it shows the shift from star-driven bookings to content-driven momentum, which will decide its fate over the weekend.

Trade Buzz

  • Day 1 = Celebration, Day 2 = Reality Check.

  • Despite the drop, with nearly 35K admits on Day 2, OG remains in a strong average-to-good zone pre-release.

  • If content clicks, trade experts believe Pawan Kalyan’s star power can still turn OG into one of the biggest weekend openers of 2025 in South India.

Riding on Southern Might

With only a limited release in the Hindi belt, OG is still relying purely on its Southern strength. While Day 1 saw houseful boards and historic pre-release celebrations in Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Vizag, Day 2 reflects the typical cooling-off phase after fan-driven bookings.

Even with the decline, the numbers remain respectable for an unreleased film and highlight the continued draw of Pawan Kalyan’s star power.
