Kantara Chapter 1:Day 2 Early Estimates–Crosses ₹100 Crore in Two Days, Hindi Slows But Remains Steady. Collect around 9 crore on 2nd day

Kantara Chapter 1 Box Office Day 2 – Crosses ₹100 Crore in Two Days, Hindi Slows But Remains Steady

Rishab Shetty Kantara Chapter 1 is on a dream run at the Indian box office. After delivering a strong ₹61 crore net on Day 1 across all languages, the film has now crossed the ₹100 crore net mark in just two days. This makes it one of the fastest films of 2025 to hit the century milestone, powered by extraordinary response in the South and steady contributions from Hindi belts.

In Hindi, however, the picture has been slightly different. The first day, despite being a National Holiday and backed by tremendous buzz, did not hit the massive heights expected. The film collected around 18.5 crore net, which is good but not extraordinary considering the pre release hype. Second day was a working Friday and as expected, numbers dipped. Early estimates suggest ₹9–9.5 crore net, a figure lower than what such glowing word of mouth deserved. CineInfinity experts had anticipated a minimum of 12–13 crore on Day 2 given the strong reviews, but the hold has still been respectable. With Saturday and Sunday now ahead, the Hindi version has every chance to bounce back and finish the weekend on a high note, with trends suggesting a total in the ₹60–65 crore net range for four days.

Regionally, the film strength has been remarkable. Karnataka, the home market, continues to dominate with extraordinary collections and packed houses, proving the massive pull of Rishab Shetty. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are equally solid, with evening shows showing houseful boards and single screens running to capacity. Mumbai circuit has emerged as the strongest for the Hindi version, sustaining much better than other regions and lifting the film overall Hindi performance. Delhi–UP and Bihar circuits are steady but on the lower side, while Gujarat and Rajasthan have shown relative weakness, although Saturday trends already suggest better growth. What is clear is that the film’s impact is pan-India, with South markets leading the charge and Hindi markets slowly but surely picking up momentum.

Here’s a quick look at the occupancy trend:

DayMorningNoonNightOverall
Day 1 (Friday)25–28%42–44%38–40%33-34%
Day 2 (Saturday)8-10%12–14%30–32%17–18%

Day 2 followed a similar pattern to the opening day – slow in the morning, steady growth by evening, and strong support from urban centres. The weekend is set to see a sharp rise in occupancies, with Saturday already tracking much higher.

CineInfinity Insights

With 61 crore on Day 1 and around 41–42 crore on Day 2, Kantara Chapter 1 has amassed 100–102 crore net in two days across all languages. The Hindi total stands at 27.5–28.5 crore net in two days and with Saturday already showing clear upward momentum, the weekend is expected to give the film a big boost.

The slight underperformance in Hindi is balanced out by extraordinary strength in South India, and with word of mouth this positive, Kantara Chapter 1 is now poised for a phenomenal weekend run and a rock-solid lifetime trajectory.
