Jolly LLB 3 Inches Closer to 100 Crore Mark With Steady Struggle
Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi starrer Jolly LLB 3 has managed a good run so far at the box office, crossing 97 crore nett in just 13 days. The film saw a healthy jump on its second Tuesday with 3.3 crore nett, thanks to discounted ticket rates, and followed it with another 3.0 crore nett on Wednesday. With this, the legal comedy drama now stands at 97 crore nett and is inching closer to the 100 crore milestone.
The second weekend was ordinary, with Sunday affected by the India–Pakistan cricket clash. While Saturday showed a positive jump, the momentum slipped on Sunday and Monday, and collections dropped sharply. The discounted Tuesday gave a temporary boost, and the partial holiday on Wednesday pushed evening shows higher, ensuring the film stayed alive in its slow but steady journey towards 100 crore.
The business in the Mumbai circuit has remained weaker than expected, especially in Maharashtra and Gujarat. Gujarat in particular has been disappointing, partly due to the Navratri period and the limited comedy factor in the film. In contrast, collections in Delhi/UP and East Punjab have been much stronger, providing the bulk of support. Overall, mixed word of mouth has kept the film from growing bigger in the long run.
At one stage, even the 100 crore figure looked difficult, but with no major release last weekend and some help from discounted pricing, Jolly LLB 3 managed to crawl closer. Still, the film needed around 130 crore nett to be a clean hit, which is well out of reach and impossible now.
With only limited showcasing left and not much support from weaker circuits, the film is expected to end its run in the ₹100–102 crore nett range. However, the film is facing a tough challenge with the arrival of new releases like Kantara and Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, which have taken away a large share of screens.
