All India Performance

Maharashtra continues to lead the Hindi belt, with Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur recording excellent numbers throughout the week. Odisha and Central India circuits also contributed significantly. Delhi NCR and East Punjab steady throughout the week, though the rest of the Hindi belt is not performing as strongly. Otherwise, the Hindi version could have easily crossed 130 crore nett in the first week. The Maharashtra belt has been the main driving force, ensuring outstanding business even when other regions did not contribute as much as expected.

In South India, the Kannada original and Telugu versions continue to drive strong business in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. Tamil Nadu and Kerala markets also added respectable numbers, contributing to the all-India tally surpassing 320 crore nett. Word-of-mouth remains very strong, and this has been a key factor in the sustained weekday performance.

With its first week now complete, Kantara Chapter 1 is set for a strong second week, with minimal competition until Diwali. The film’s Hindi version entering the 100 crore club and overall crossing 320 crore across languages highlights its pan-India appeal. If the momentum holds, the film is likely to extend its run with continued weekday collections and festival-week boosts.
