After Saiyaara Blockbuster, Mohit Suri Teams Up Again With Yash Raj Films. 

After the massive success of Saiyaara, director Mohit Suri is once again joining hands with Yash Raj Films for his next project. The filmmaker made the announcement during his session at FICCI Frames 2025, where he reflected on the journey of Saiyaara and revealed how YRF head Aditya Chopra had sensed the film’s potential long before its release.

Aditya Chopra’s Faith That Never Wavered

While speaking about Saiyaara’s making, Mohit shared an interesting moment that stayed with him. The first cut of the film, he admitted was far from perfect, running over three hours and not tightly edited. Yet, Aditya Chopra saw something special even then.

When Adi sir and Akshaye Widhani watched the early version, it was quite long and loose. But Adi sir told me, Even if this opens to four or five crores, it will go on to make 100 crores, Mohit recalled.

That confidence, Suri said, kept entire team motivated to polish the film and stay true to its emotional depth.

A Fresh Collaboration On The Card

Encouraged by Saiyaara’s overwhelming success, Mohit confirmed that he’s in advanced discussions with YRF for another project. “Yes, we are planning to do a film together again,” he said, adding that the response to Saiyaara opened a new audience base for him.

He shared that the film’s family appeal surprised him the most. “I have never had older women walk up to me and say, ‘Beta, jeete raho. Bahut acchi picture banayi,’” he smiled. The director believes this emotional connect is what will shape his next story with the banner.

Moving Forward Without Formulas

Looking back at his career, Suri said he’s learned one important thing, genuine emotion always wins over tried and tested formulas. “You can’t recreate success by copying what worked before. I tried that once with Hamari Adhuri Kahani, and it didn’t connect the same way,” he admitted.

For his upcoming YRF project, Mohit plans to start from scratch and trust his instincts. “You can never plan what will touch people. You just make something honest and hope it reaches them,” he said.

Released in 2025, Saiyaara became one of the year’s biggest surprise hits. Directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Yash Raj Films, the romantic drama won hearts with its soulful music and emotional storytelling. It not only re-established Suri as a master of romance but also proved that heartfelt stories still rule the box office.
